Authority Over the Insurmountable

You may recall the statement:

“Watch your thoughts, for they become words.  Choose your words, for they become actions.  Understand your actions, for they become habits.  Study your habits, for they will become your character.  Develop your character, for it becomes your destiny.”

Contained within that statement is a God-given truth for us to understand.  God has given each of us authority to govern our lives while we live on this side of eternity.  Authority is the power to act, plus the right to act.

Still, there are times when we appear to be facing an insurmountable situation wherein we feel at a complete loss of authority to overcome it.  It is as though both the power and the right to conquer it have been stolen away from us.  What then?  How do we respond?

It is during moments like these that we, as believers, must remind ourselves that we walk not in our own strength, but in the strength of Christ and His resurrection.

When we need God to step in and take care of the challenges facing us, He does so through the power of Christ’s resurrection.  It is through the Resurrection that you and I have entered into a new covenant with God.  It is through the Resurrection that the chains of this fallen world and the bondages of the enemy of your soul must be released, without exception!

Therefore, while you walk in the authority of a believer today, you are also walking in the power and authority of Christ and His resurrection.

I pray for these thoughts to encourage you today.  May you, your family, and your ministry continue experiencing the power of Christ’s resurrection.  May this week reveal fruit from your labors from this past Easter celebration and all of its activities!

Love,

Pastor Gary
