This year, I have been sharing with you words of encouragement to catch the vision and respond to the call from God to go BEYOND in every area of your life in Christ and every area of your ministry.

We considered last week our challenge to follow the example of our spiritual father of faith, Abraham.

1 – Abraham DID what God said.

2 – Abraham did ANYTHING God said.

3 – Abraham did EXACTLY what God said.

4 – Abraham IMMEDIATELY did what God said.

Today, let’s consider Joshua.  Looking at Joshua 6:1-20, we see how God worked BEYOND through Joshua in overcoming Jericho.  Here are 6 points drawn from that illustration.  (I’ve noted the verses for you to grab your Bible and easily follow.)

1 – God must be our priority.  (The Ark went before them.  The Ark represented God’s presence with them.  The Ark is mentioned 10x in 10 verses.)

2 – Our actions must align with God’s Word. (vs. 7 ‘he said’ – vs. 8 ‘it came to pass’)

3 – What we say or don’t say is vital to our victory. (vs. 10)

4 – We must work together in unity. (EVERYONE was involved.)

5 – Believe we have our victory before we see it. (vs. 16 – walls were still standing)

6 – Celebrate our victory before we see it. (vs. 20 – shouted before walls fell)

Let these 10 highlighted points become paramount in your heart as you experience life and ministry this week.

As you begin living and ministering within these guidelines of victory, you will quickly recognize God’s power working through you.  He will empower you to overcome obstacles.  He will inspire you to overflow with His joy and peace.  He will equip you to go, do, and receive superabundantly, far over and above and infinitely beyond!

Here is a profession based on Ephesians 3:20.  Say it aloud!  God is at work in me so He can work through me!  He is carrying out His purposes for me!  He is doing superabundantly far over and above all I ask, think, or imagine.  His power is at work to do infinitely beyond my highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, and dreams!
