They’ve Got Questions, Do You Have Answers? – Ministry Memo from Pastor Gary

Once, I was at lunch with an unbelieving couple. At one point in our conversation, they asked me a question. I gave a simple response. My short and simple answer made a tremendous impact upon them.

The answer I gave was not derived from some theological study, sermon, or anything I had studied to learn. The answer came from my heart. It flowed out of who I am.

People all around you are looking for answers to change their lives. The answers which will have the most impact and life-changing power for them will come from who you are rather than what you do. It is who you are “in Christ” that makes the difference. It is the power of God’s Holy Spirit working through you that will give them the answers they so desperately need.

Please think upon this for a moment. Your primary focus should not be on building bigger programs or developing new systems to reach the lost. Your primary focus should be on becoming more like Christ Jesus. As you grow in Him and His Spirit works in you, something amazing will occur. You will begin living a life that is full of the answers others are looking for.

You will also be pleasantly surprised to discover that the more you become like Christ, your decisions on programs, etc.., will succeed because they are being born out of the mind of Christ within you.

May you “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” “becoming like Jesus in this world.” (2 Peter 3:18, 1 John 4:17)
