You Are NOT the Last Link in the Chain!

You Are NOT the Last Link in the Chain! – Ministry Memo from Pastor Gary

The Apostle Paul modeled a powerful example for you and I as a true leader in ministry. One of the most outstanding aspects of his ministry was that he duplicated himself and the work of the Kingdom of God in others.

I believe this truth can be easily seen in 2 Timothy 2:2. “You have often heard me teach. Now I want you to tell these same things to followers who can be trusted to tell others.” (CEV)

Paul taught Timothy both with words and by example. Paul mentored Timothy and, in many ways, became a spiritual father to him. Moreover, in the verse above, Paul exhorts Timothy to do the same with others. Paul guides Timothy to teach others, mentor others, and pass along the great calling of ministry.

Using the example of a chain, compare each of us to a link in that chain. Somewhere along the line there was someone who mentored you. They were the preceding link in the chain. So, where does that place you? Are you the last link in the chain? Well, you could be unless you personalize God’s call from 2 Timothy. Teach others! Pass along the vision!

It is just as important for you to win souls as it is to train others to win souls. It is just as vital for you to minister as it is to raise up others to minister. That is indeed the key in Christ’s words, “make disciples.”

You are NOT the last link in the chain! Pray for God to send you a ‘Timothy.’ Let the Holy Spirit guide you in finding others “who can be trusted” to keep the message going!

NEW Gospel Magic Lesson is FREE!

Christ Conquered Death” is Free with any purchase from Children’s Ministry Today’s Marketplace. It is a wonderfully easy lesson to present which visually illustrates that Christ conquered death by rising from the dead and that, through Christ, we also have victory over death. (1 Corinthians 15)

After showing three cards with pictures of a sealed tomb, you then show the other sides to contain two black and one red cross. The two outer cards each have a black cross; the center card has a red cross. After turning around one black cross card to again show the tomb, you place it in front of the other two cards. At end of your lesson, you turn the tomb card back around again to show that the two black crosses have remained the same; however, the center red cross has changed into a picture of Christ!

There is NO sleight of hand involved and it is a self-working effect that brings an intriguing, attention-keeping twist while you teach on 1 Corinthians 15:55, 57 and 2 Timothy 1:9,10.
