We want to bless you today with this incredible word of encouragement that, regardless the testings of life, you are continually in God’s presence and favor. This is a paraphrase of a wonderful devotional by Charles Spurgeon.

“Nevertheless I am continually with You.” –Psalm 73:23

“Nevertheless,”—In spite of all the foolishness and ignorance which David had just been confessing to God, not one bit less was it true and certain that David was saved and accepted, and that the blessing of being constantly in God’s presence was undoubtedly his. Fully conscious of his own lost estate, yet, by a glorious outburst of faith, David sings, “nevertheless, I am continually with You.” Believer, say “nevertheless, since I belong to Christ, I am continually with God!”  By this it means that you are:

— Continually upon His mind, He is always thinking of me for my good.

— Continually before His eye, the eye of the Lord never sleeps, but is perpetually watching over my welfare.

— Continually in His hand, so that no one shall be able to remove me from that place of security.

— Continually on His heart, worn there as a memorial, even as the high priest wore the names of the twelve tribes upon his heart for ever. You always think of me, O God. Your love continually longs for me. You are always making providence work for my good. You have set me as a signet (seal) upon Your arm; Your love is strong as death, many waters cannot quench it; neither can the floods drown it.

Surprising grace! You see me in Christ, and though I see myself as despised, You see me as wearing Christ’s garments, and washed in His blood, and so I stand accepted in Your presence. I am continually in Your favor–“continually with You.” Here is comfort for the tested and distressed soul. “Nevertheless”–O say it in your heart, and take the peace it gives, “Nevertheless, I am continually with You.”
