Your SURE Path to Victory – Encouragement from Pastor Gary

This is one of those truths that really hits home no matter where you are in ministry, no matter how long you have been in ministry, no matter where you are in life, no matter where you have been or where you are headed.

Let me start by giving you a visual illustration. Consider the phrase “weak as water.” It usually refers to a person who has no inner strength, fortitude, courage, or determination.  Then consider a solid rock with a hole through the center that was created by the consistent dripping of a single drop of water.

You and I are “as weak as water” in our natural strength and ability. However, when we are established in a consistent and steadfast relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ, we can penetrate through the toughest of circumstances. 2 Corinthians 12:10 reminds us that we are weak, but in that weakness we are strong. As 1 Corinthians 4:10 explains, our strength is found in Christ. We are in Christ, the One in whom all authority and power has been given in both Heaven and in earth!

So, what makes the difference? What empowers you and I to get through the most seemingly impenetrable situations and navigate a sure path to victory? The answer is found in the definition of “KEEP ON KEEPING ON;” we are victorious as we have faithfulness, consistency, and steadfastness — standing firm in the strength of God within us!

Recall with me that the Lord said to Paul, “keep on speaking.” Paul said to the Corinthians, “I will keep on doing” and to the Ephesians, “keep on praying.” In Hebrews we read, “keep on loving.” These are just a scattering of what we read throughout all of scripture as God exhorts us to “Keep On.”

From a personal point of view, this is something that I have especially been experiencing over this past year. So many days, I have been face down before our Lord in prayer, seeking Him and His strength through my weakness. And, now I am beginning to see the light from the other side of the stone as the hole breaks through.

So, let me encourage you today to “KEEP ON!” You may feel as “weak as water” but you have the power of God within you working on your behalf!

In closing, consider these words from Charles Spurgeon:

“The most healthy state of a Christian is to be always empty in self and constantly depending upon the Lord for supplies, to be always poor in self and rich in Jesus, weak as water personally, but mighty through God to do great exploits”

I pray these words motivate you to “keep on keeping on” today in the strength of your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
