It Just So Happened… Encouragement from Pastor Gary

It Just So Happened That…

How often do you see situations that appear to be just coincidence taking place in your life and ministry?  Many times, you and I experience situations that appear to ‘just so happen.’ Then, some time later we look back and realize that God was at work, carefully interacting in our lives and ministries.

There is a parallel illustration in the story of Ruth.  We can see, in retrospect, the divine intervention of God working in Ruth’s life and circumstances. We can see that it was not by chance that Ruth came to Boaz’s field, but consider how the story is recorded. Ruth 2:3 says, “And Ruth went and gleaned in a field after the reapers; and she happened to stop at the part of the field belonging to Boaz.” (AMP)  Did she really ‘happen to stop’ at Boaz’s field? It was at that field she found her husband. It was at that field that her life of poverty was ended. It was at that field that she entered into the genealogy of the Messiah.

Are you searching for an answer? Is there a need in your life or ministry that must be met? Then, be aware of even the smallest of details that take place in your life. It may seem that something ‘just so happens’ to take place. Do not dismiss the ‘just so happen’ moments. Look for God’s divine hand at work.

I’d like to share with you a little of what has been taking place in our life and ministry. Over the past couple of years, God has been more clearly speaking to us about a new area of ministry. As I look back, I can see moments that appeared to be ‘just so happen’ moments. Now I more fully see how they were moments in which God was intricately working to move us closer to this next area of ministry. Presently, we are in a hub of activity as God leads us step by step in fulfilling His new plan for us. Alisa and I are praying that we clearly recognize those ‘just so happen’ moments and respond to the Holy Spirit’s leading.

We also pray for you. We pray for you to recognize every answer you need as it comes. It may come in the form of a ‘just so happened’ moment. When it does, realize that it didn’t ‘just happen,’ but God is intricately working ALL THINGS for your good.
