2012 Mother’s Day Prayer Based on Proverbs 31

A fitting word spoken at the right time is like apples of gold among settings of silver (Proverbs 25:11).

Today is the right time, the time we take for fitting words spoken in honor of you, the Mothers and Grandmothers that have forever impacted our lives!

Thank you for being a rare woman, a capable, intelligent person of character, comparable to precious jewels and far more valuable than pearls. You are a person we can confide in and rely on; you have greatly enriched our lives.

You are always a source of comfort and encouragement to us. You can be counted to be a source of good to us throughout our whole lives.

You give generously in so many ways. We know that you have willingly worked hard to prepare our food, provide clothing, take care of our household to make it a home. Numerous times you have worked late into the night to take care of us and provide for us.

When you speak, you always have something worthwhile to say. You lovingly give us good advice and instruction and guide us with wisdom.

The person you are has been sculpted by the person and character of God Himself. You have set an example for us of one who imitates God.

Because of all these things, we rise up today to give you the praise you deserve. Thank you for being you!
