Consider Carefully What You Do

Consider Carefully What You Do – Ministry Memo from Pastor Gary

Will you make a moment to carefully consider today’s ministry memo?  I’d like to challenge you to give it a bit more of your attention.  As a minister of Jesus Christ, you are in a position of great accountability to God.  Your actions, attitude, and words must be selected with great care.  I remind you of King Jehoshaphat’s instructions to the judges he appointed throughout Judah.

Jehoshaphat said, “Consider carefully what you do, because you are not judging for mere mortals but for the LORD, who is with you whenever you give a verdict.”

This wisdom is very much the same for you and I today as we carry out the work of the ministry.  Paraphrased for us it may read, “Consider carefully what you do, because you are not ministering for mere mortals but for the Lord, who is with you in all that you do.”

There are two powerful points that I wish to highlight for you.  The first is that the Lord is with you in all you do!  Never forget that whether you are in a children’s service, counseling session, business meeting, or ice cream social, God is with you.  He is there to equip, empower, protect, guide, and work through you.

The second point is simply this.  Whatever you do must be done the way God desires it to be done.  You can make some wonderful decisions and have some marvelous plans, but if those decisions and plans are not being carried out or implemented the way God wants for the flock He has entrusted into your care, then you will  be missing the mark.

Consider carefully what you do, for you are doing it for the Lord and unto the Lord.

You will be right 100% of the time!

The lesson teaches on 2 Kings 14:3 where “Amaziah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. In everything he followed the example of his father.”

This outstanding download also includes a second lesson on the wonderful truth of Joshua 24:15, “Choose this day whom you will serve.”
